Deja Vu about Deja vu?

Deja Vu - that strange feeling that one has lived this moment before - is recognised as being the most common 'psychic' experience. So what exactly is Deja Vu? Can it simply be a confusion of perception or is there something much more important taking place? This is the place to record your own experiences of this mysterious phenomenon ... maybe even join in a very important world-wide survey that will attempt to finally explain this mystery.

Deja Vu about Deja vu?

Postby Hurlyburly on Sun Feb 07, 2010 3:31 pm

As mentioned in the other forum, I have noticed that a lot of the Deja Vu I experience is about the actual Deja Vu itself rather than about the incident in question. Do others feel this way? Do you feel the familair feeling from the moment in time or the analysis that comes afterwards. Obviously they are both connected but it's interesting to see which part becomes more important to the individual.

It's evidence that there are several layers to the way in which we think and self analysis often provokes interesting and sometimes strange moments of familair thoughts/memories (from an ITALDian perspective)

Just a thought.

The term "déjà vu about having a déjà vu" is a commonly used phrase often concluded to be either a tautology or a simple misnomer owing to déjà vu translating as "already seen", so an 'already seen' scenario of something itself 'already seen' is not another déjà vu but a rememberance or recognition.

What you describe here is usually more accurately referred to as a déjà senti about déjà vu (an 'already felt' experience about déjà vu itself).

The edit you made was a bit more helpful. Your original reply wasn't as descriptive. Thanks.

You can't "already see" something you've "already seen" having seen before? You re-cognise the feeling and sense deja senti. Deja senti of deja vu is an interesting phenomena with many accounts recorded.

I believe within the parameters of Tony's work this is a feeling or sensation that the Daemon may be capable of.
